'We Will Defend Greenland': Denmark Warns US Of 'Devastating' NATO War

Denmark would have to defend itself in the event of an American attack on Greenland, said Denmark Member of Parliament and Chairperson of the Defence Committee Rasmus Jarlov. He acknowledged that although the Danish army would not be able to stop the US, an attack is not acceptable.

In an exclusive interview with NDTV, Jarlov said, "We also want to make clear that it's not acceptable to attack us militarily, and it would lead to the absurd situation and disastrous situation of a war between two NATO countries, which would be completely devastating and very, very stupid and unnecessary."

Jarlov said that there is no threat, hostility or justification for Trump to attack Greenland since the US already has access to Greenland, and the two nations have a defence agreement that allows them access to do mining. "There's absolutely no need for this, and we hope we can get it back on track and that it doesn't escalate," he explained.

Trump previously made an offer to buy the island in 2019, during his first presidential term, only to be told it was not for sale. After returning to office following his victory in the 2024 US Presidential Election, Trump revived his offer from his first term to purchase Greenland, which was again turned down.

Jarlov said that Greenland is not for sale and that it is not a matter of price for the nation. "We can't sell 57,000 Danish citizens to become Americans. They have made that extremely clear."

Meanwhile, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen has warned that an armed US attack to take Greenland could spell the end for the 76-year-old Western military alliance.

"Certainly a military attack would be the end of NATO, because then Denmark would have to invoke the Article 5 of NATO, which is the oath that countries have to come and protect us. Then the Americans and all other countries would be obliged to come and help Denmark protect Denmark against the United States. Of course, the Americans would veto that, and then NATO would be dead," he said.

On Tuesday (local time), the White House said it was considering "a range of options" to acquire Greenland, with Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stating during a briefing that the use of military force was not off the table.

Leavitt said President Trump had made it clear that "acquiring Greenland is a national security priority of the United States" and was vital to deterring adversaries in the Arctic region.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has said that he plans to meet Danish and Greenlandic officials next week. He also clarified that Trump wants to buy the island and not use military force, Wall Street Journal reported. Meanwhile, Denmark has welcomed the meeting with the US officials as "dialogue that is needed".

"Celebrate With Fireworks": Omar Abdullah's Attack After Medical College Shuts

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has criticised the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Sangharsh Samiti's celebration over the National Medical Commission's decision to revoke recognition of the Mata Vaishno Devi Medical College. The Commission had withdrawn the permission to the Medical College citing non-compliance with minimum standards.

The controversy over this medical college started when the selection list revealed 42 Muslims and only seven Hindu students for its 50 seats. Right-wing organisations objected, arguing that the college, funded by Mata Vaishno Devi devotees, should prioritise Hindus.

"The Sangharsh Samiti is celebrating the closure of the medical college. People in other countries fight to establish medical colleges, but here they are fighting to shut one down. If you are happy about ruining children's futures, then celebrate with fireworks," Abdullah said while interacting with reporters in Samba.

Abdullah added, "You got the college shut down in the name of religion. I had told the media that we don't need this college. Now, we will ensure that our children are accommodated in government colleges near their residences. I have spoken to the Health Minister to make arrangements for them."

"This time, out of 50 seats, 40 have gone to Kashmir. After one or two years, these 50 seats would have become 400 seats. Out of those 400 seats, possibly 200 or 250 children would have been from Jammu. Tomorrow, those children will not get medical college seats because you got the entire college shut down in the name of religion," Abdullah said.

He said the children who will not get medical college seats in future because of the closure of this medical college. One should remember these "Sangharsh Samiti people forever," he said.

Mehbooba Mufti's Peoples Democratic Party has also criticised the cancellation of MBBS admissions at the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Medical College.

PDP leader and MLA Waheed Para said, “It is unfortunate that the BJP government, which is in power in the Centre and also in UT indirectly, should believe in division, especially institutional division, and disallow meritorious students on religious lines because they are Muslims".

"If the registration was cancelled because of this, then it sends a very negative message in J&K and the whole of India against the minorities. It is a very unfortunate move, and it validates that the politics of division cannot have a future in the state,” he was quoted as saying by news agency Press Trust of India.

Earlier this morning at Geeta Bhawan,  Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Sangharsh Samiti - a conglomerate of 60 social and right-wing organisations, celebrated the National Medical Commission's decision to revoke recognition of the Mata Vaishno Devi Medical College.

Supporters danced to beating drums and distributed sweets, hailing it as "Sanatan ki Jeet" (Victory of Sanatan).

The demand for closure of the college had sparked tension between the BJP and Omar Abdullah's ruling National Conference. Abdullah held the opinion that one cannot ignore merit and look at things with communal glasses.

The Sangharsh Samiti had demanded that the college close, and the Medical Commission's decision has been seen as a victory for the group. Many view it as a win-win situation, with the college's closure ending the controversy. Selected students will be transferred to other recognised medical colleges in J&K.

Kapil Sharma Reveals Netflix Pressure Struggles On The Great Indian Kapil Show

Comedian Kapil Sharma is riding high on the success of Season 4 of his Netflix show The Great Indian Kapil Show. The series, which premiered in December last year, is currently trending at number one on Netflix India's Top 10 most-watched shows list.

In the latest episode, Kapil Sharma welcomed Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday - who appeared on the show to promote their film Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri. During the light-hearted conversation, Kapil jokingly spoke about the pressure he faces from Netflix regarding the show.

It all happened when members of the audience were chatting among themselves and disrupting the shoot, Kapil addressed them in his trademark style. He quipped, “Mujra dekhne aaye ho? Dance karoon main? (Have you come to see Mujra? Should I dance?) Work is going on. Market mein hisaab dena hota hai Netflix ko (I have to give an answer to Netflix). See, they are still messaging me.”

Talking about Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday's film, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri released on December 25 last year. Directed by Sameer Vidwans, the romantic drama received a lukewarm response at the box office. So far, the film has collected Rs 32.25 crore in the domestic market, as per industry tracker Sacnilk

Meanwhile, Kapil Sharma was also recently seen in Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2, directed by Anukalp Goswami. The film, a sequel to Kapil's 2015 hit Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon, failed to make a strong impact at the box office as well. Apart from Kapil, the film featured Manjot Singh, Hira Warina, Tridha Choudhury, Parul Gulati, and Ayesha Khan in key roles.

Coming back to the latest season of The Great Indian Kapil Show, the premiere episode featured Priyanka Chopra as the guest. Another episode saw members of the Indian women's cricket team gracing the couch. Comedians Sunil Grover, Krushna Abhishek, and Kiku Sharda are also part of the show.

Padikkal Scripts History, Achieves Stunning Record. Not Even Kohli Has Done It

Devdutt Padikkal narrowly missed out on a fifth hundred in six games as Karnataka crushed Rajasthan by 150 runs and secured a spot in the Vijay Hazare Trophy quarter-finals. However, despite missing out on the century, Padikkal completed 600 runs in the ongoing season. This helped Padikkal register a sensational record - he became the first batter to amass 600 or more runs in three separate Vijay Hazare Trophy seasons. It is an achievement that even India's greatest ODI stalwarts like Virat Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar or Rohit Sharma have managed.

Following the innings, Padikkal averages an astonishing 83.62 in List A cricket after 38 innings, with 13 centuries and 13 half-centuries to his name.

The sixth-round Group A game turned into a lopsided contest with Karnataka captain Mayank Agarwal (100 off 107 balls) slamming his second century of the ongoing tournament, while Padikkal (91 off 82 balls) missed his fifth ton by just nine runs as Karnataka emerged as a leading contender for the title this season by carving out a massive 324 for 7.

India pacer Prasidh Krishna (5/36) then made a huge impact with the ball by grabbing a five-for as Rajasthan crumbled for 174 in 38 overs.

Star-studded Karnataka, following their sixth successive convincing win, are leading the group with 24 points, while Kerala, Jharkhand and Madhya Pradesh are a distant second on 16 points, separated by the Net Run Rate (NRR). All three teams are in contention of booking a quarterfinal berth.

Tamil Nadu and Tripura are a distant fifth and sixth with eight points each.

Padikkal's reliability at the top of the batting order has become somewhat of an asset for Karnataka. Barring just one below-par score in the six previous games, the 25-year-old left-hander has not put a foot wrong. He shared a 184-run stand with his skipper before Rajasthan heaved a sigh of relief when left-arm spinner Manav Sutar (2/51) dislodged the bails.

Mayank too perished after completing his century, built with the help of nine fours and three sixes.

Rajasthan's batting failed yet again with the team registering their fifth loss in six games with Prasidh's accuracy and nagging line and length hastening their downfall.

Vishnu Vinod's big ton in Kerala win

India keeper-batter Sanju Samson (11 runs) had an off day for Kerala but stalwart Vishnu Vinod came up with his best List A score -- 162 not out off (84 balls) -- as the southern side defeated Puducherry by eight wickets with 21 overs to spare.

Baba Aparajith (63 not out) and Vinod came together at a time when Kerala suffered quick reversals losing Samson and Rohan Kunnummal (8). Their unbroken 222-run stand guided the team home in 29 overs.

Utkarsh, Mohan star for Jharkhand

Jharkhand all-rounder Utkarsh Singh (3/30 & 56) and centurion Shikhar Mohan (103 off 108 balls) kept their team in the hunt for a quarterfinal berth as they defeated Madhya Pradesh by two wickets.

Player of the Match, spinner Utkarsh bowled a fine line to dismiss MP for 277 in 48.4 overs with Akshat Raghuwanshi (64) and Shivang Kumar (67) managing to score half centuries.

Jharkhand, despite their big-hitting skipper Ishan Kishan (9) failing to make an impact, scored the winning runs with 14 balls to spare with openers Mohan and Utkarsh playing a pivotal role in the win following a 94-run stand.

Brief scores:

Karnataka 324 for 7 in 20 overs (Devdutt Padikkal 91, Mayank Agarwal 100, KL Rahul 25; Kukna Ajay Singh 2/66, Manav Suthar 2/51) beat Rajasthan 174 in 38 overs (Prasidh Krishna 5/36, Shreesha Achar 2/35, Shreyas Gopal 2/45) by 150 runs.

Tamil Nadu 259 for 6 in 50 overs (C Andre Siddarth 70, Baba Indrajith 48; Manisankar Murasingh 2/50) beat Tripura 205 in 42.4 overs (Tejasvi Jaiswal 45, Manisankar Murasingh 43; Gurjapneet Singh 6/26, Varun Chakravarthy 2/23) by 54 runs.

Madhya Pradesh 277 (Akshat Raghuwanshi 64, Shivang Kumar 67; Sushant Mishra 2/55, Utkarsh Singh 3/30, Bal Krishna 2/35) lost to Jharkhand 278 for 8 in 47.4 overs (Shikhar Mohan 103, Utkarsh Singh 56, Virat Singh 45; Kumar Kartikeya 3/63, Shivang Kumar 3/56) by two wickets.

Puducherry 247 in 47.4 overs (Ajay Rohera 53, Jashwanth Shreeram 57; MD Nidheesh 4/41, Ankit Sharma 2/42) lost to Kerala 252 for 2 in 29 overs (Sanju Samson 11, Baba Aparajith 63 not out, Vishnu Vinod 162 not out).

Maduro's Nike Tracksuit Sold Out Hours After His Handcuffed Pics Go Viral

Hours after the United States launched airstrikes on Caracas, images and videos of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro - blindfolded and handcuffed - in a grey Nike tracksuit being escorted by US agents spread across social media.

The Venezuelan leader and his wife, Cilia Flores, were captured on allegations of drug trafficking and are now expected to face charges in New York, according to US authorities.

A picture, shared by US President Donald Trump on Truth Social, showed Maduro aboard a US military vessel en route to the United States. The image quickly took off online, and attention zeroed in on Maduro's clothing: a gray Nike Tech Fleece tracksuit with black detailing. The outfit sold out rapidly on Nike's US website in the hours following the release of the images.

Search interest for the term “Nike Tech” surged on Google, while TikTok and Instagram were filled with memes and commentary questioning the choice of clothing during such a high-stakes arrest.

The Nike Tech Fleece tracksuit is part of the brand's premium Tech Fleece line, a range known for its lightweight, double-layered fabric designed to retain warmth without bulk. It is made using recycled polyester and finished with contrast panelling and zip detailing. Typically sold as a zip-up hoodie and matching joggers, the set is priced at around $140-$160 (approx Rs 14,500) in the US and is advertised as athleisure wear.

The tracksuit appeared in subsequent videos showing Maduro walking under escort by US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) agents after arriving on American soil.

Following the capture of Maduro, Trump issued fresh warnings to Venezuela's interim leader Delcy Rodriguez, saying she could face consequences “bigger than Maduro” if she fails to cooperate with Washington. Trump said a second US strike on Venezuela remained an option, while insisting the US needed full access to Venezuela's oil and natural resources. Rodriguez, who succeeded Maduro, called for a “balanced and respectful” relationship with the United States.
