Shah Rukh Khan Launches Shahrukhz Danube, First-Ever Property Named After Him

Shah Rukh Khan was present at a grand event today in Mumbai along with the founder and chairman of the Dubai-based Danube Group, Rizwan Sajan, as they unveiled a landmark property named Shahrukhz. Hosted at a five-star hotel in Mumbai, it was indeed a grand affair. Shah Rukh Khan is now the first actor on whose name a tower is getting made.

Shah Rukh Khan mentioned how Rizwan wanted the event to take place in India only and not in Dubai.

"I really wanted the event to take place here, as I come from here. Wanting to make their lives better. As and when this project begins to roll, I hope people find their lives growing beautifully and exponentially, as they should."

Shah Rukh Khan On How Proud His Mother Would Be

He said, "My mother would be very happy. It is a very big honour. When my kids come, I will say, 'Papa ka naam likha hai, dekho.' I have seen all the details of this building for the past two months. It is state-of-the-art and affordable. For people who are starting off in Dubai, it will be a moment and an inspiration to make their lives."

Shah Rukh Khan's Viral Moment On Stage

Shah Rukh was an absolute sport as he made his signature pose on stage at the event. He also imitated his "Don" walk and delivered the iconic Om Shanti Om dialogue.

The famous dialogue was, "Itni shiddat se mein ne tumhe paane ki koshish ki hai, ki har zarre ne mujhe tumse milane ki saazish ki hai. Aaj aap sabne mujhe meri chaht se mila diya. Thanks, thanks very much."

He kept the audience pumped as he grooved to Chaiyaa Chaiyya on stage with Farah Khan and Rizwan.

About The Property

The project will take about three to four years to complete with 56 floors.

The tower by the Danube Group will be called Shahrukhz. There will also be a statue with Shah Rukh Khan's iconic pose, spreading his arms at the entrance, so that people can take pictures.

Shah Rukh Khan on what excited him about the project: "When Rizwan explained the idea of the building-to build something for people who come with the dream of finding a place for their businesses and houses in a place like Dubai-and if I can be a part of it and an inspiration, it will be the greatest gift."

"Ganga Flows From Bihar To Bengal, Created Path Of Victory For BJP": PM Modi

The NDA's massive win in Bihar has set the groundwork for a similar performance in neighbouring West Bengal, where Mamata Banerjee's Trinamool Congress holds power, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said at the BJP's headquarters in Delhi today.

"The river Ganga flows to Bengal via Bihar. And the victory in Bihar, like the river, has paved the way for our victory in Bengal," PM Modi said toward the end of his hour-long speech.

The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) swept the Bihar election by winning over 200 of the 243 seats, with the BJP standing tall as the single-largest party.

"Your hopes are my pledge and your dreams are my inspiration. For the BJP, the party workers are its strength," PM Modi said, crediting the karyakartas for the stellar performance in Bihar.

Alluding to the decimation of the Mahagathbandhan, the Opposition alliance which the BJP had said would bring "Jungle Raj" if people elected them, PM Modi appealed to the people of Bengal to "uproot Jungle Raj" from their state too.

"Not just in Bengal, this victory will inspire our workers in the south too," PM Modi said.

Earlier in the day when trends showed the NDA's spectacular performance in Bihar, BJP leaders had already started talking about Bengal. BJP's Giriraj Singh's warning to Banerjee to "brace for the worst" found support from Bengal BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari, who said Bengal would see a "spectacular" BJP win in the election next year.

Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar, invoking his 'Mission Bengal' theme, added a sharper edge: "Now the time comes to clean up the jungles of Bengal."

The Trinamool Congress on its official social media handle responded to the BJP's challenge.

"Bring it on," the ruling party in Bengal said. The post had an old video of Banerjee in which she was heard saying, "It is not easy to play with us."

"Uou slink into Bengal, groveling for votes, after branding our sacred land 'a state of Bangladeshis and Rohingyas.' To a party that wallows in such despicable slander, we hurl one searing question: Have you no shame at all?" the Trinamool Congress said.

"In 2026, the people of Bengal will democratically crush your arrogance underfoot and send you crawling back in disgrace. You are not welcome here, and you never will be," it said.

Trinamool spokesperson Kunal Ghosh dismissed any possibility of Bihar's verdict influencing Bengal's political course. "That is Bihar's equation. It has no connection with Bengal; with over 250 seats, Mamata Banerjee will become chief minister again," he added.

Priyanka Says Working With SS Rajamouli, Mahesh Babu Has Been "Adiri Poyindi"

Priyanka Chopra Jonas on Wednesday expressed her excitement about her upcoming film Globetrotter, marking her much-anticipated return to Indian cinema. The actress said she hopes the SS Rajamouli directorial will herald a new era in her career.

Ahead of the film's grand launch event in Hyderabad on Saturday, Priyanka interacted with fans during an #AskPCJ session on X, where she answered questions about the project and her experience working in the Telugu film industry.

When a user asked, "How are you finding the Telugu film industry so far? Have you tasted the amazing biryani yet?", Priyanka replied, "It's still early days for me on the movie, but it's been adiri poyindi (amazing)! Also, the biryani is the best in the world in Hyderabad."

Responding to a fan who wondered whether Globetrotter would mark her "grand return to Indian cinema or a whole new PCJ era," she said, "Hopefully a new era and my return to Indian films. I'm not sure, but I know it will be incredible."

Priyanka's last Indian project was the 2019 drama The Sky is Pink, co-starring Farhan Akhtar. Since then, she has primarily appeared in Hollywood productions such as The Matrix Resurrections, Love Again, Heads of State, and the series Citadel.

In SS Rajamouli's Globetrotter, she stars alongside Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran.

One fan expressed how much they missed seeing her on Indian screens, hoping Globetrotter would mark a new beginning. Priyanka replied, "By God's grace. I'm hoping to do the best work I can around the world. With all your support, it feels like anything is possible."

When asked about delivering dialogues in Telugu, she wrote, "It's obviously not my first language, but @ssrajamouli sir has been so helpful. I'll be able to deliver my Telugu lines and live up to your expectations." To another question on languages, she added, "I love languages but just grew up with English and Hindi. My films have given me so much exposure to languages around the world."

A fan also asked whether her daughter Malti Marie, whom she shares with her husband and singer Nick Jonas, had visited the Globetrotter sets.

Priyanka responded, "My daughter has been to the set in Hyderabad and had the best time with @urstrulyMahesh and Namrata's beautiful daughter Sitara. She even went to @ssrajamouli's farm and met a calf."

When a fan asked about her next goal in life, Priyanka replied, "My gosh, I feel like I haven't even scratched the surface. There's so much more I want to do and achieve. Hopefully, I can."

Globetrotter marks SS Rajamouli's first directorial venture since the Oscar-winning global success of RRR, and his much-awaited collaboration with Mahesh Babu.

The film's promotional campaign will begin with a grand event on November 15 at Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad.

In Bihar's Record Voter Turnout, A Warning From History For NDA

Most exit polls have predicted a clear majority for the ruling NDA in Bihar, with one going as far as to project that it could win between 150 and 170 of the state's 243 seats. What may give the alliance pause, however, is a statistic about increased voter turnouts.

Bihar has seen an overall voter turnout of 66.91%, which is a record in its electoral history. The turnout in the first phase was 65.08%, which was a record in itself, and was then surpassed by the figure for the second phase, which was 68.76%. The overall turnout has increased by 9.62 percentage points compared to the 2020 Assembly elections, when it was 57.29%.

Data from previous elections shows that governments have changed three times in Bihar whenever there has been an increase of over five percentage points in the voter turnout.

In the 1967 elections, voter turnout increased from 44.5% in 1962 to 51.5% - an increase of 7 percentage points -  and the Congress government fell. That year, non-Congress parties formed a coalition government.

Then, in the 1980 elections, voter turnout was 57.3%, compared to 50.5% in 1977. This increase of about 6.8% paved the way for a change in power.

The situation repeated itself for the third time in 1990. Voter turnout in 1985 was 56.3%, which increased to 62% - an increase of 5.7 percentage points. The Congress was ousted from power, replaced by the Janata Dal.

In this year's elections, voting for which ended on Tuesday, there were several Assembly constituencies that saw a bumper voter turnout, and some that completely bucked that trend. In the second phase, the constituency with the highest voter turnout was Pranpur (Katihar) with 81.02%, while the constituency with the lowest voter turnout was Kumhrar (Patna) with 39.57%.

10 Assembly constituencies with the highest voter turnout in the second phase:

Pranpur (Katihar) 81.02%

Thakurganj (Kishanganj) 80.51%

Kadwa (Katihar) 79.95%

Kishanganj (Kishanganj) 79.62%

Kochadhaman (Kishanganj) 79.15%

Barari (Katihar) 78.5%

Balrampur (Katihar) 78.1%

Bahadurganj (Kishanganj) 78.05%

Kasba (Purnia) 77.8%

Rupauli (Purnia) 77.58%

10 Assembly constituencies with the lowest voter turnout in the second phase:

Kumhrar Patna 39.57%

Digha (Patna) 41.5%

Biharsharif (Nalanda) 55.09%

Shahpur (Bhojpur) 57.11%

Darauli (Siwan) 57%

Ziradei (Siwan) 57.17%

Ekma (Saran) 58.35%

Danapur (Patna) 58.52%

Chapra (Saran) 58.61%

Daraunda (Siwan) 58.9%

Women's Turnout Was Better Than Men's

The Election Commission reported that more women voted than men in both phases of the election. The total voter turnout across Bihar's 243 seats was 66.9%, with 62.8% of men and 71.6% of women voting.

What Happens To Your Body When You Eat Rice Every Day

Rice is more than just a staple; it's a cultural cornerstone and a nutritional powerhouse for over half the world's population. From fragrant basmati in India to sticky sushi rice in Japan, this humble grain finds its way into daily meals across continents. But what really happens to your body when you eat rice every day? Is it a health hero or a hidden hazard? The answer depends on the type of rice and how it fits into your overall diet. While white rice is often criticised for its high glycemic index, whole grain varieties like brown, red, and black rice offer impressive health benefits. Let's explore how daily rice consumption affects your body.

Health Benefits Of Eating Rice Daily

1. Rice Fuels Your Body with Energy

Rice is primarily composed of carbohydrates, the body's preferred source of energy. This makes it an excellent fuel, especially for those with active lifestyles. The brain, in particular, relies heavily on glucose derived from carbs like rice to function optimally. Brown rice, with its intact bran and germ, provides a slower, more sustained energy release compared to white rice, which is digested quickly and can spike blood sugar levels.

2. Whole Grain Rice Supports Heart Health

Eating whole grains like brown rice daily has been linked to improved cardiovascular health. A randomised controlled trial found that consuming three servings of whole grains per day, including brown rice, helped lower blood pressure and reduce the risk of heart attacks and strokes, rivalling the effects of some medications but without the side effects. Brown rice is rich in magnesium, which supports heart rhythm and blood vessel function.

3. It May Lower Your Risk of Type 2 Diabetes

Harvard researchers discovered that replacing white rice with brown rice could reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes by up to 16%. Conversely, eating white rice daily was associated with a 17% higher risk of developing diabetes. This is largely due to the fibre and lower glycemic index of brown rice, which helps regulate blood sugar levels more effectively.

4. Rice Promotes Digestive Health

Brown rice contains insoluble fibre that aids digestion and promotes regular bowel movements. It can help prevent constipation and improve gut health. Additionally, because rice is naturally gluten-free, it's a safe and nutritious option for people with celiac disease or gluten sensitivities.

5. Antioxidants in Coloured Rice May Fight Disease

Pigmented rice varieties like red, black, and purple rice contain significantly more antioxidants than white or even brown rice. These antioxidants have shown promising anti-inflammatory and anticancer properties in lab studies, including activity against breast cancer and leukaemia cells.

Rice can be used to make healthy, balanced meals.

Potential Risks: Arsenic and Overconsumption

While rice offers many benefits, it's important to be mindful of arsenic levels, especially in brown rice. The bran layer, while nutritious, can also accumulate more arsenic from the soil. Experts recommend varying your grain intake and rinsing rice thoroughly before cooking to reduce exposure.

Should You Eat Rice Every Day?

Eating rice every day can be part of a healthy diet, especially if you choose whole-grain varieties and balance it with other nutrient-rich foods. From boosting energy to protecting your heart and digestive system, rice offers a range of benefits. Just be mindful of the type and quantity. Combine varieties of rice in a week and make sure that you control the quantity of rice and increase the quantity of proteins and vegetables to go along with it.

Here are the best ways to eat rice every day in a healthy way:

1. Choose Whole Grain Varieties

Opt for brown, black, red, or wild rice along with white rice. These varieties retain the bran and germ, offering more fibre, antioxidants, and essential minerals like magnesium and manganese.
Brown rice supports heart health and blood sugar stability. Black and red rice are rich in anthocyanins, powerful antioxidants linked to reduced inflammation

2. Cook Rice Using the ACS Method

The American Chemical Society (ACS) method involves adding a teaspoon of coconut oil to boiling water before cooking rice, then refrigerating it for 12 hours. This process increases resistant starch, which:

  • Lowers the glycemic impact
  • Feeds beneficial gut bacteria
  • Reduces calorie absorption by up to 60%

3. Mix in High-Fibre, High-Protein Ingredients

Boost the nutritional profile of rice by adding:

  • Lentils and quinoa: A famous dietitian hack combines white rice with lentils and quinoa to add fibre and protein.
  • Vegetables: Stir-fry rice with carrots, peas, broccoli, and bell peppers.
  • Healthy fats: Use olive oil or avocado oil sparingly for sauteing.
  • This combo makes rice more filling and balances blood sugar levels.
pulao

Combine rice with other foods to increase the nutrient content of the dish.

4. Cool and Reheat for Resistant Starch

Cooking rice, then cooling it overnight and reheating before eating, increases resistant starch, which:

  • Acts like fibre
  • Improves gut health
  • Reduces blood sugar spikes

5. Use Rice as a Base for Balanced Meals

Instead of eating rice alone, pair it with:

  • Lean proteins: Chicken, tofu, fish, or legumes
  • Healthy sauces: Low-sodium soy sauce, coconut aminos, or yoghurt-based dressings
  • Fermented foods: Kimchi or pickled vegetables for gut health

This approach turns rice into a nutrient-dense, satisfying meal.

Aamir Khan And Girlfriend Gauri At Breach Candy Hospital To Visit Dharmendra

Veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra's health has drawn widespread concern after news broke of his hospitalisation at Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital.

Over the last couple of days, numerous film personalities have been visiting him.

Among the recent visitors was Aamir Khan, who arrived at the hospital with his girlfriend Gauri Spratt. The couple was photographed entering the medical facility, seated together in the back seat of their car.

Prior to their visit, several stars including Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Govinda and others had stopped by to check on Dharmendra's condition.

Dharmendra is "recovering and responding to treatment," according to a statement shared by his son Sunny Deol's team on Tuesday.

In a follow-up statement, Sunny Deol's team added, "Dharmendra is responding. Family is hoping for a miracle."

As concern grew, false reports about Dharmendra's health began circulating online, prompting swift clarifications from his family. His daughter Esha Deol took to Instagram to confirm that her father is "stable and recovering."

Dharmendra's wife, actor and BJP MP Hema Malini, also dismissed the rumours, writing on X that her husband is "responding to treatment and recovering." She criticised those spreading misinformation and urged everyone to rely only on verified updates.

Earlier, Sunny Deol had appealed to the public not to believe or share unverified news regarding his father's condition. Dharmendra has been receiving treatment at Breach Candy Hospital for several days now.
