US Man Kills And Dismembers 19-Year-Old College Student On First Date

A 34-year-old man in the US has been found guilty of killing and dismembering the body of a 19-year-old girl on their first date after the two watched an episode of a Netflix series with an eerily similar theme. According to the New York Post, Maxwell Anderson killed Sade Carleena Robinson in April 2024 after the two met for dinner. They went to a restaurant and a bar before Anderson invited her to his home in Milwaukee. This was the last time Robinson, a criminal justice student at Milwaukee Area Technical College, was seen alive. 

The 19-year-old was reported missing the next day, when she didn't show up for her shift at a pizzeria. The police checked her home and found no trace of her. Then, on the same day, cops found her sawed-off leg on the shores of Lake Michigan, as per the outlet. They also found additional body parts, including a foot and human flesh, scattered throughout the city. 

Prosecutors showed bloodied photos from Anderson's phone to prove he was the teen's killer. One deleted picture recovered by investigators captured Anderson holding Robinson's chopped-off right breast. 

The jury was told that Anderson committed the heinous crime after he watched a Netflix animated series named 'Love, Death & Robots' with Robinson. One of the episodes in the series showed a dismembered corpse, which was discovered on the beach, similar to Robinson's body.

Cops also found a "sex dungeon" in Anderson's home after his arrest. In his basement, he had a "sex sling, restraints and handcuffs," police said. 

Other photos on Anderson's phone included pictures of the 19-year-old inside his home. The jury described the pictures as graphic and disturbing. "That was pretty damning evidence that shook everyone. I physically felt like I was gonna throw up at that point. I know a lot of people were shaking and crying," juror Melissa Blascoe said.

Anderson is believed to have planned Robinson's killing for months, creating a space covered in a plastic tarp, the Post reported. 

After committing the brutal killing, he drove Robinson's car around Milwaukee for some time before parking it in North Milwaukee and setting it on fire.

The 15-member jury took 45 minutes to reach a guilty verdict. Anderson was ultimately found guilty of first-degree intentional homicide, mutilating a corpse, hiding a corpse and arson. No motive for the killing was revealed during the trial.

The 34-year-old now faces a mandatory life sentence, but Judge Laura Crivello could sentence him to additional extended supervision.

Signs Of Thaw? Sachin Pilot Meets Ashok Gehlot, Invites Him To Family Event

It is a picture that speaks more than a thousand words.

Sachin Pilot went to Ashok Gehlot's residence on Saturday to invite him to an event commemorating the 25th death anniversary of his father and former Union Minister Rajesh Pilot, and the meeting has political circles abuzz. 

Adding to the buzz is the fact that the meeting lasted over an hour and both the Congress national general secretary and the former Rajasthan chief minister - who have had a frosty and acrimonious relationship for years - posted about it on X.

Mr Pilot later told reporters his visit to the former chief minister's residence was simply to invite him to the event, which will be held on Wednesday. 

Mr Gehlot, however, posted a video of the meeting, going on to state that he and Rajesh Pilot were elected to the Lok Sabha together in 1980 and had a long association lasting 18 years. He also said he was still saddened by Rajesh Pilot's sudden death in 2000, which he described as a big blow to the Congress.

Observers said Sachin Pilot, who also shared a photo of the meeting, displayed great magnanimity in reaching out to Mr Gehlot who, in the past, has gone to the extent of calling him 'nikamma' and 'nakara' ( variations of 'useless').

Rivalry

The Congress colleagues have been political rivals ever since Mr Gehlot pipped Mr Pilot to the post of chief minister in 2018. This was despite Mr Pilot, as Congress president, being seen as having revived the party in Rajasthan after a rout in the 2013 Assembly elections. 

The younger leader then had to settle for the deputy chief minister's post. 

While tensions had been simmering, matters came to a head when Mr Pilot opened a front against Mr Gehlot's style of leadership in 2020. There have been two factions in the party ever since, but the acrimony has ebbed and flowed. 

All Eyes On Event

Sources said Rajesh Pilot's commemoration event is being keenly watched as the attendance will help gauge who is in which faction. 

"If Mr Gehlot decides to attend on Wednesday, it could well be a sign that the thaw in the Rajasthan Congress is here to stay. If not, it could perhaps be advantage Sachin, who made the first move by inviting the senior leader to a personal function," said a source.

Doctor In Debt Administers IV Fluids To Himself In Car, Dies By Suicide

A young doctor pursuing his postgraduate medical degree was found dead inside his car near the hill town of Kodaikanal in Tamil Nadu. The doctor was reportedly in debt and allegedly died by suicide after administering intravenous fluids to himself.

Officials said Dr Joshua Samraj was pursuing his MD (Doctor of Medicine) in Salem and working at a hospital in Madurai. His car was found parked for three days in a remote forested area in Poomparai near Kodaikanal, prompting local residents to alert the police.

Authorities recovered a suicide note from the vehicle. "The doctor has apologised to his family in the suicide note, but has neither blamed anyone nor given any reason. His family has said he was depressed because of an issue in a relationship."

Investigators also revealed that Dr Samraj was reportedly in debt, though there is no clarity yet on what caused it. Amid social media speculation that the doctor had lost money in online gaming, police clarified, "We have not found any such detail in his suicide note, nor do his parents say so. We are investigating."

Initial findings suggest that the doctor may have administered intravenous fluids to himself inside the vehicle. However, police have said that only a post-mortem examination will confirm the exact cause of death. A case has been registered.

Trump-Musk Feud: Tesla Now Worst-Performing Stock, Loses $380 Billion In 2025

Elon Musk's political adventure has been nothing short of a roller-coaster ride - Oval Office access and conference calls with world leaders at the President's golf resort at its peak and being threatened about his government contracts being scrapped and tax benefits being revoked at its worst.

But it is Musk's businesses that have borne the brunt of his political escapade, especially in the last 24 hours, after his public fallout with former friend and boss Donald Trump. Tesla has become the worst-performing large-cap stock this year. Its valuation was on a steady decline ever since Musk made his political ambitions public. 

THE DECLINE

Its decline picked pace amid Trump's rhetoric about "beautiful" oil and his executive order on Day 1 of his second term ordering to "drill baby, drill" to "Make America Great Again". As Trump kept hard-selling vehicles that run on petroleum, the demand for Electric Vehicles or EVs fell sharply.

Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk's political controversies over his ties to far-right groups resulted in Tesla stock losing even more value after Trump took office in January. But the most devastating blow to the Tesla stock came after Thursday's explosive fallout when the two brash billionaires indulged in a no-holds-barred verbal duel resulting in an end to their partnership.

FREE FALL

Stock valuation went into free fall as markets opened after Trump's 'One Big Beautiful Bill' was passed by House Republicans leading to Musk and Trump trading threats and insults. Tesla stock plunged more than 14 per cent, resulting in a wipeout of roughly $152 billion in a matter of hours.

With this, Tesla has lost more than $380 billion in valuation since the beginning of 2025 - making it the biggest loser among large-cap stocks. Tesla's market capitalization has fallen 29.3 per cent to $917 billion so far this year. 

The firm, which ranked eighth globally in terms of market cap at the start of the year, is now on the verge of dropping out of the top 10 big companies globally.

THE EV-KILLER BILL

Trump's 'Big Beautiful Bill' is seen by Elon Musk as an EV-killer since the bill removes tax cuts or tax benefits given to electric vehicle manufacturers. For a firm like Tesla, this means tens of billions of dollars annually.

Donald Trump has now also threatened to cut Elon Musk's government subsidies and contracts, which give both Tesla and SpaceX "billions and billions of dollars" of benefits. Elon Musk's personal wealth has also taken a beating since the public feud, dropping by nearly $9 billion, according to Bloomberg's billionaire index.

'SUCH INGRATITUDE'

During the spat, Elon Musk reminded the "ungrateful" President that the reason he can call the White House his home, was because of Musk's financial and moral support during the election campaign last year, for which he had poured in hundreds of millions of dollars.

"Without me, Trump would have lost the election, Dems would control the House and the Republicans would be 51-49 in the Senate...Such ingratitude," Musk wrote in a post on X.

Musk has now suggested that Trump "should be impeached" and JD Vance should take over, claiming that the US President figures in the Epstein files over his links to child sex abuser and trafficker Jeffery Epstein.

Family Of Indore Woman, Who Went Missing In Meghalaya, Demands CBI Probe

The family of an Indore-based woman who went missing in Meghalaya last month while honeymooning with her husband urged the Union government on Friday to hand over the case to the CBI after expressing dissatisfaction with the probe of the north eastern state's police.

Sonam Raghuvanshi (25) and her husband Raja Raghuvanshi (29) disappeared on May 23, hours after they checked out of a homestay at Nongriat village in Meghalaya's East Khasi Hills district. Raja's body was found in a deep gorge near a waterfall in Sohra area, some 20 kilometres away from the homestay, on June 2.

Meghalaya police, which registered a murder case after Raja's body was found, are yet to get clues about Sonam's whereabouts.

"My daughter has been abducted and is still in the clutches of her captors. Meghalaya police is not investigating the matter properly. They have been negligent right from the beginning. I have been seeking the deployment of the army since the day they went missing. If it was done in time, they would have been found safely," Sonam's father, Devi Singh Raghuvanshi, told PTI.

He said the Centre must hand over the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation.

With desperation setting in, Raghuvanshi said he had hung an inverted photograph of Sonam on the advice of an astrologer so that she can be found safely.

After their marriage here on May 11, the couple left for Meghalaya on May 20 for their honeymoon, family said.

The couple arrived at Mawlakhiat village on May 22 on a rented scooter. They parked their scooter and trekked 3,000 steps down the gorge to visit the famous living rootbridges at Nongriat village, where they stayed the night and left the homestay the following morning.

On May 24, their scooter was found abandoned at a cafe along the road from Shillong to Sohra.

A woman's white shirt, a strip of medicine, a part of the LCD screen of a mobile phone and a smartwatch were seized at the spot where Raja's body was found, as per Meghalaya police.

"Time to drop the really big bomb: Donald Trump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!" Musk wrote just over an hour after a verbal spat with the President took an ugly turn.

He followed that up by saying, "Mark this post for the future. The truth will come out."

Inseparable for the last nine months, billionaires Donald Trump and Elon Musk were only praises for each other, but the last week has been turbulent, and the past 24 hours explosive. With the passage of the controversial 'One Big Beautiful Bill', which the two friends have deep disagreements over, the gloves have now come off.

Over the past few hours Trump and Musk have dealt blow after blow on each other. While Trump publicly chided Musk over his posts, saying he was very "disappointed with Elon", Musk was quick to remind the "ungrateful" President that the reason he can call the White House his home, was because of Musk's support during the election campaign last year.

"Elon and I had a great relationship. I don't know if we will any more," Trump said at a White House press briefing. He also predicted that Elon "hasn't said bad about me personally, but I'm sure that'll be next," adding that he was "very disappointed in Elon".

But as the stock value of Musk's EV firm Tesla plummeted with the passing of the controversial bill, Elon Musk dropped a series of posts, lambasting the US President for what Musk called "The Big Ugly Bill". His latest post however, is bound to shake up Washington DC - that the Epstein files aren't public because the US President figures in it.
