Prohibitory Order Imposed In Indore Till July 4

In a bid to uphold peace and public order within Indore, Police Commissioner Santosh Kumar Singh has enacted "prohibitory order" under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Code 2023.

Any violation of this directive will result in punitive action under Section 223 of the Indian Justice Code 2023.

The order will remain in effect until July 4, 2025, the order posted in X account of the District Collector said.

As per the provisions outlined, no individual or group within the urban limits of Indore may host any event that could incite hostility between communities.

Any form of provocative speech or dissemination of misinformation -- whether in person or through social media -- that targets religious sentiments or threatens communal harmony is strictly prohibited, the order said.

The order also forbids the stockpiling of materials such as bricks, stones, soda bottles, glass containers, flammable substances, or explosives in open spaces or on rooftops -- objects that could be used in acts of violence or intimidation.

Additionally, improper publications that could stir communal discord are prohibited, the order noted.

No person shall verbally or digitally spread false information or rumours that may disrupt the peace, it said.

The use of religious symbols or language on social media in a manner that could incite animosity is deemed a punishable offence, it added.

Social media group administrators are held accountable for ensuring their platforms remain free of inflammatory content.

If any such content is posted, it must be promptly removed, the responsible party expelled, and local authorities notified.

Regulations for cybercafes have also been tightened.

Operators must verify the identities of all visitors through valid documentation, including identity cards, voter ID cards, ration cards, driving licenses, or PAN cards.

No cybercafe may function without a maintained registry recording each visitor's details.

Additionally, cafes must install web cameras to document users' photographs, keeping these records securely stored for a minimum of six months. These measures aim to safeguard public safety, prevent communal unrest, and reinforce accountability in both physical and digital spaces, ensuring Indore remains a secure and harmonious city, the order said.

Video: Ex-Trump Official Camryn Kinsey Collapses Live On Air

Camryn Kinsey, a former Donald Trump administration official, fainted on live television on Thursday (May 8) while appearing on Fox News. Ms Kinsey was speaking against former president Joe Biden and his aide Kamala Harris when she abruptly fell during the live broadcast.

"This is what they have to do, they have to rewrite history because they had a failed campaign, they had a failed presidency. They put her as the border czar. She never went to the border. So this is about incompetency. It's not about uh ideology," Ms Kinsey said as she became lightheaded.

Host Jonathan Hunt reacted with surprise as crew members ran out to help. "Oh my goodness, we're just going to get some help here for Camryn," Mr Hunt said.

Clearly flustered, Mr Hunt attempted to continue the segment by involving another commentator, but at the end, decided to go for a commercial break. After returning to air, Mr Hunt provided an update on Ms Kinsey's health.

"Camryn is up and moving, we have paramedics checking her out now. We will keep you updated and of course we wish Camryn all the best," Mr Hunt said.

As of the last update, neither Ms Kinsey nor Fox had revealed the cause of her fall. However, the network did reiterate that she was doing well.

"After 'Fox News @ Night' guest Camryn Kinsey fainted during a live on-air appearance last night in our Los Angeles bureau, paramedics were called and she was treated and cleared," a Fox News spokesperson told USA Today.

"We are happy to hear she is now feeling much better and wish her a speedy recovery."

Social media reacts

As the video went viral, a section of social media users expressed concern while others called out the host and network for not rushing to her aid.

"Camryn Kinsey just collapsed on live tv tonight on Fox News tonight. That was crazy." "Many people are praying for you Camryn, including me. We hope you're ok. I witnessed your medical event live. That was hard to watch."

A third commented: "The other presenter didn't even get up to help her, camera was rolling, it's all about the show. America has lost its empathy completely and that's why we have a cheap show host as a president."

Ms Kinsey served as the external relations director in the White House presidential personnel office under President Donald Trump. Serving for six months during Trump's first term, she went on to work as a White House correspondent and reporter at One America News Network, a far-right political news channel.

Trump Urges "Quick De-Escalation" Of India-Pak Conflict: White House

US President Donald Trump wants to see the conflict between India and Pakistan de-escalate "as quickly as possible," the White House said on Friday.

The comments by White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt came as military action between India and Pakistan intensified following India's strike on nine terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir(PoK) under 'Operation Sindoor' early Wednesday. India's strike was a powerful retaliation to the Pahalgam massacre on April 22, in which 26 people, mostly tourists, were killed.

"The President has expressed he wants to see this de-escalate as quickly as possible. He understands these are two countries that have been at odds with one another for decades, long before President Trump was here in the Oval Office," Leavitt said.

"This is something that the Secretary of State and, of course, now our national security advisor as well, Marco Rubio, has been very much involved in," Leavitt added.

She was responding to a question about the US efforts to mediate or have an impact on the conflict between India and Pakistan.

She said Trump "has good relationships" with the leaders of both countries, and Rubio has been in "constant communication with the leaders of both countries, trying to bring this conflict to an end."

On Thursday, US Secretary of State Rubio spoke separately with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, emphasising the need for de-escalation and reiterated his calls for Pakistan to take concrete steps to end any support for terrorist groups.

During his call, S Jaishankar conveyed to Rubio that India will firmly counter any attempts by Pakistan to escalate the situation.

Several Flights Cancelled At Delhi Airport Due To Airspace Closure

Several flights scheduled for arrival and departures from Delhi Airport were cancelled on Thursday due to the closure of airspace, said airport sources.

These 90 cancelled flights include 46 domestic departures and 33 domestic arrival flights while it included five international departure and six international arrival flights. These cancelled flights were scheduled between 8 am and 2 pm.

This comes in the aftermath of the Indian Armed Forces' Operation Sindoor against Pakistan. As per the central government, 21 airports in North and North-western India will remain shut till May 10.

Several major cities across northern India have been placed on high alert. As part of heightened security measures, several airports across India have been shut down until further notice.

Several flights of airlines like IndiGo, Air India, Spicejet, Akasa Air, Air India Express have been cancelled and rescheduled.

On Wednesday, SpiceJet announced the cancellation of flight operations to and from six airports in northern India, following airport closures implemented amid heightened security in the wake of Operation Sindoor, launched in response to the Pahalgam terror attack.

In its travel advisory posted on social media platform X, SpiceJet stated that Leh, Srinagar, Jammu, Amritsar, Kandla, and Dharamshala airports are currently shut, and all flight operations to and from these cities remain suspended till 5:29 am IST on May 10.

Earlier, IndiGo cancelled its flight operations in 11 cities across north, northwestern, and central India until May 10, following aviation authorities' directives regarding airport closures.

IndiGo in its travel advisory stated that Srinagar, Jammu, Amritsar, Leh, Chandigarh, Dharamshala, Bikaner, Jodhpur, Gwalior, Kishangarh, and Rajkot are the affected cities where flight operations have been cancelled till 5:29 am IST on May 10.

The Delhi Airport also issued an advisory for travellers after India carried out precise strikes overnight against nine targets in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK) to take down terror infrastructure on Wednesday.

After India executed Operation Sindoor in which nine terror sites deep inside Pakistan were destroyed, Pakistan attempted to engage a number of military targets on the night of May 7.

The military targets were engaged in Northern and Western India, including Awantipura, Srinagar, Jammu, Pathankot, Amritsar, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Adampur, Bhatinda, Chandigarh, Nal, Phalodi, Uttarlai, and Bhuj, using drones and missiles.

These were neutralised by the Integrated Counter UAS Grid and Air Defence systems. The debris of these attacks is now being recovered from a number of locations that prove the Pakistani attacks.

Ritika Sajdeh's Heart-Broken Reaction As Rohit Retires From Test Cricket

Team India captain Rohit Sharma has officially announced his retirement from Test cricket, bringing down the curtain on a remarkable journey in whites. The announcement was made via his Instagram story on Wednesday, where the opener penned a heartfelt note. "Hello everyone, I would just like to share that I am retiring from Test cricket. It's been an absolute honour to represent my country in whites. Thank you for all the love and support over the years. I will continue to represent India in the ODI format," Rohit wrote.

Ritika Sajdeh, Rohit's wife, reacted on the Instagram with a heart-broken reaction. 

Rohit made his Test debut against the West Indies in November 2013 and went on to represent India in 67 Tests. He amassed 4,301 runs at an average of 40.57, with 12 centuries and 18 fifties. His highest score of 212 came during a memorable home series against South Africa in 2019. He finishes as India's 16th-highest run-getter in the longest format.

He kick-started his Test journey with a memorable 177 against the West Indies at Eden Gardens, Kolkata in 2013.

Despite immense promise and some great knocks, the 'Hitman' initially struggled to solidify himself as a top-choice batter in the longer format, especially in tours away from home. From 2013-18, Rohit played just 27 Tests, scoring 1,585 runs at an average of 39.63, with three centuries and 10 fifties in 47 innings. His best score was 151. The right-hander struggled away from home, particularly in testing South Africa, England, New Zealand and South Africa (SENA) countries. Success in these nations is often considered a hallmark of a great Indian batter.

His Test career witnessed a second wind with the launch of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC), as the format gave his red-ball journey renewed purpose. Promoted to open the innings, Rohit found consistency and form, particularly on home soil. In 40 WTC matches, he scored 2,716 runs at an average of 41.15, including nine centuries and eight fifties. His highest score in the WTC cycle was also 212. He was India's top run-scorer and century-maker in WTC history and stood 10th among the tournament's all-time leading scorers. The 2019 series against South Africa at home remains his finest in Tests, where he scored 532 runs in three matches at an incredible average of 132.25, slamming three centuries including the double hundred in Ranchi. He started his Test revival as an opener with knocks of 176 and 127 against South Africa in Visakhapatnam in October 2019.

Rohit's dominance at home was unmatched, having scored 2,535 runs in 34 Tests at an average of 51.73, with 10 centuries and eight fifties across 55 innings. His struggles, however, were evident in overseas conditions, where he accumulated 1,644 runs in 31 Tests at an average of 31.01, with only two centuries and 10 fifties in 57 innings. At neutral venues, he featured in two Tests, scoring 122 runs at an average of 30.50, with a best of 43.

His finest moment overseas came in the 2021-22 Pataudi Trophy in England, where he emerged as India's leading run-getter, scoring 368 runs in four Tests at an average of 52.57. The series included a memorable knock of 127, his only century in the SENA (South Africa, England, New Zealand, Australia) countries.

He has played 11 Tests against South Africa and scored 738 runs at 38.84 with three centuries and a highest of 212, his performances in South Africa remained underwhelming, scoring only 183 runs in six matches at an average of 16.63.

Against England, he scored 1,147 runs in 14 Tests at 47.79, with four centuries and four fifties. In England alone, he played seven matches and managed 524 runs at 40.30, with a highest of 127. Against New Zealand, he made 515 runs in nine Tests at 36.78 with five fifties, while scoring 122 runs at 40.66 across two Tests in New Zealand, including a best of 72. Against Australia, he accumulated 739 runs in 15 Tests at 28.42, with just one century and three fifties. His record in Australia was below par, with 439 runs in 10 Tests at an average of 24.38 and a highest score of 63 not out.

Rohit's record against the West Indies was one of his most dominant, with 578 runs in six Tests and seven innings at an outstanding average of 96.33, including three centuries and two fifties. His debut knock of 177 still stands as one of his finest innings.

As captain, Rohit led India in 24 Tests, winning 12, losing nine, and drawing three, with a win percentage of exactly 50. He took India to the final of the 2023 World Test Championship in England, where the team fell short against Australia. However, the final stages of his red-ball career were marred by poor form and team results.

The 2024-25 season proved to be particularly difficult. Across eight Tests and 15 innings, spanning from the home series against Bangladesh to the away Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia, he managed just 164 runs, with only one fifty to his name. His form slump was coupled with India's downturn in performance, as he became the first Indian captain to lose a home Test series against New Zealand, suffering a 3-0 whitewash. He also captained the side through most of the Australia series, which India lost 3-1, resulting in their exit from contention for the 2025 WTC final.

Despite the late-career setbacks, Rohit Sharma's Test legacy is one of transformation, perseverance, and class. From a middle-order player who struggled to cement his place to becoming one of India's most reliable openers in the WTC era. He announced just before the As he turns the page on Test cricket, Rohit will continue to serve India in the ODI format, where he remains a pillar of experience and leadership.

"If I Can Do Anything To Help...": Trump On India-Pak Tensions

Amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, US President Donald Trump said if he could do anything to help, "I will be there" and wants the escalating conflict between the two countries to "stop".

"Oh it's so terrible. My position is I get along with both. I know both very well and I want to see them work it out. I want to see them stop and hopefully they can stop now. They have gone tit for tat so hopefully they can stop now. I know them both, we get along with both the countries very well.

"Good relationships with both and I want to see it stop. And If I can do anything to help I will be there," Trump said in response to a question on the 'war' between India and Pakistan.

Earlier, Trump said he hopes that the hostilities will end "very quickly".

"It's a shame, he said, adding, "We heard about it just as we were walking in the doors of the Oval (Office). I guess people knew something was going to happen based on a little bit of the past." "They've been fighting for a long time. They've been fighting for many, many decades and centuries, actually, if you really think about it," Trump said.

Asked if he has any message for the countries, he said, "No, I just hope it ends very quickly." India launched Operation Sindoor early Wednesday hitting nine terror targets in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and Punjab in retaliation for the terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22 that killed 26 people.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Army spokesman Lt Gen Ahmad Sharif Chaudhry said 31 people were killed and 57 others injured in the missile strikes launched shortly after midnight on cities in the Punjab province and PoK, and firing on the Line of Control.

PM Modi To Reschedule 3-Nation Europe Visit As Tensions With Pakistan Soar

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has put his three-nation Europe visit on hold as tensions between India and Pakistan have surged in the wake of the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam in which 26 civilians were killed by Pak-linked terrorists in a religiously-motivated terror attack. India responded on Wednesday with precision missile strikes on terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

PM Modi, who is closely-monitoring the situation, has reportedly asked for his visit to Croatia, Norway, and the Netherlands, which was due next week, to be rescheduled. As per his original schedule Prime Minister Modi was to commence his official visit to the three nations on May 13. He was also going to participate in the India-Nordic Summit in Oslo on May 15 and 16.

All three countries have been informed about the change in PM Modi's schedule. They have also been appraised about the current situation between India and Pakistan.

Last month too, on the day of the Pahalgam terror attack, PM Modi, who was in Saudi Arabia, returned to New Delhi immediately and called for a top-level meeting to assess the incident. Upon finding cross-border terror links with Pakistan, the Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Modi, decided to take a slew of measures to punish Islamabad diplomatically and eliminate the terrorists in a military strike.

Another visit that PM Modi cancelled, was to Moscow, where he was scheduled to attend Russia's Victory Day celebrations on May 9.

On May 8, India carried out targeted missile strikes on nine high-value terror camps across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. New Delhi described the operation as a calibrated military action aimed solely at dismantling terror infrastructure without escalating broader hostilities. In a statement issued shortly after the strikes, India said, "Our actions have been focused, measured and non-escalatory in nature. No Pakistani military facilities have been targeted. India has demonstrated considerable restraint in the selection of targets and method of execution."

'Operation Sindoor', was launched at 1:05 am on Wednesday and lasted for 25 minutes.

"This government has kept its promise - those responsible will be held accountable," India said in a statement.
