Harry Potter Star Joins OnlyFans To Pay Off Debt, Fix Home

Harry Potter cast member Jessie Cave, known for portraying Lavender Brown's character in the critically and commercially acclaimed movie franchise, has announced that she is starting an OnlyFans account. Ms Cave, who featured in three Harry Potter movies, said she was joining the adult platform to pay off debt but added that she would not be doing or promoting anything sexual.

“I'm starting an OnlyFans for my hair. It's niche even for me. Join me on this strange new journey,” wrote Ms Cave alongside a video on Instagram.

The 37-year-old actress explained that her content will centre around her hair with the subscribers receiving "best quality hair sounds" and "very sensual stuff".

“I'm going for a very pure aesthetic. There will be no feet or bums involved,” Ms Cave added.

'I'm doing something naughty'

On her Substack account, MS Cave further explained why she had taken the dive to create adult-themes content.

"I'll try for one year," Ms Cave wrote. "My aim? To get the house safe, cover the arsenic/lead wallpaper, build a new roof."

"My aim? To get out of debt. My aim? To empower myself? To prove to those in the past who have misjudged me that I'm not so sweet? To put time into something I never invested in before: self-love."

“Were my years of Harry Potter conventions in fact research? It feels like I'm doing something naughty, something a little f***ed up. I like that. Ripping up the good little actress rule book.”

Notably, MS Cave first portrayed the character in 2009's Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince before returning to reprise her role in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 (2010) and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 (2011). She also briefly played the love interest of Ron Weasley, played by Rupert Grint.

Apart from Harry Potter movies, she also appeared in movies like Great Expectations and on television series such as Black Mirror and Industry. She also voiced Lavender Brown in two Harry Potter video games.

Explained: Who Are Yemen's Houthis And Why Is US Attacking Them?

US President Donald Trump has launched the biggest military operation in the Middle East since taking office against Yemen's Iran-aligned Houthis after they resumed Red Sea shipping attacks.

The strikes, which have killed at least 24 people so far, could last for weeks according to one US official and come as Trump ramps up sanctions pressure on Tehran.

What Is The History Of The Houthis?

In the late 1990s, the Houthi family in the far north of Yemen set up a religious revival movement for the Zaydi sect of Shi'ite Islam, which had once ruled Yemen, but whose northern heartland had became impoverished and marginalized.

As friction with the government in the capital Sanaa grew, they fought a series of guerrilla wars with the national army and a brief border conflict with Sunni Muslim Saudi Arabia.

Who Is The Houthi Leader?

Abdul Malik al-Houthi created the defiant force challenging world powers from a group of ragtag mountain fighters in sandals. Al-Houthi established a reputation as a fierce battlefield commander before emerging as head of the Houthi movement.

Under the direction of al-Houthi, who is in his 40s, the group has grown into an army of tens of thousands of fighters and acquired a huge arsenal of armed drones and ballistic missiles. Saudi Arabia and the West say the arms come from Iran, though Tehran denies this.

Al-Houthi is known for rarely staying long in one place, for never meeting the media and for extreme reluctance to make scheduled public appearances.

How Did The Houthis Come To Control Much Of Yemen?

A civil war erupted in Yemen in late 2014 when the Houthis seized Sanaa. Worried by the growing influence of Shi'ite Iran along its border, Saudi Arabia led a Western-backed coalition in March 2015, which intervened in support of the Saudi-backed government.

The Houthis established control over much of the north and other large population centres, while the internationally recognised government based itself in the port city of Aden.

Yemen enjoyed a period of relative calm amid a U.N.-led peace push, but a sharp escalation in regional tensions since the start of the Gaza war has increased risks of a new conflict between the militia and Riyadh.

Why Attack Ships?

The Houthis have waded into the Gaza conflict with attacks on shipping routes in the Red Sea as a show of support for the Palestinians and Hamas, the Islamist group that controls Gaza.

They have also claimed attacks on ships they say are linked to Israel in the Gulf of Aden, the Arabian Sea, the Indian Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea.

The Houthi attacks have disrupted global shipping, forcing firms to re-route to longer and more expensive journeys around southern Africa.

While the militia has said it attacked only vessels with links to Israel, the United States and Britain, shipping industry sources say all ships were at risk.

The US and Britain had retaliated with air strikes against the Houthis as part of international efforts to restore the free flow of trade along a key route between Europe and Asia that accounts for about 15% of the world's shipping traffic.

A period of relative calm started in January alongside the Gaza ceasefire but the group then warned in March it would resume its naval operations if Israel did not lift a blockage of aid into Gaza.

The Houthis then announced on March 12 a resumption of attacks with immediate effect.

What Are The Houthis' Links With Iran?

The Houthis are part of what has been called the "Axis of Resistance" - an anti-Israel and anti-Western alliance of regional militias including Hamas, Hezbollah and the Houthis, backed by Iran.

The Houthis' slogan is "Death to America, Death to Israel, curse the Jews and victory to Islam".

The Saudi-led coalition accuses Tehran of arming and training the Houthis, a charge both deny. The coalition also says Lebanon's Iran-backed Hezbollah is helping the Houthis, an accusation it rejects.

While Iran champions the Houthis, the Houthis deny being puppets of Iran, and Yemen experts say they are motivated primarily by a domestic agenda.

Cricketer, 62, Becomes Oldest To Make Men's International Debut. Plays For...

Cricketer Matthew Brownlee made history after making his debut for the Falkland Islands against Costa Rica in a T20 International (T20I) match that took place at Guacima on March 10, 2025, as per Wisden. At 62 years old, Brownlee has become the oldest debutant in men's international cricket history, surpassing the previous record held by Osman Goker, who made his first international appearance for Turkey at 59 against Romania in a T20I match in Ilfov County in August 2019.

Throughout his career, Brownlee has played in three T20Is, gathering six runs across three innings, which feature two not-out innings. He has bowled only one over and has not yet secured his first international wicket.

With his debut on the international platform, Brownlee has become the first and only player to reach the milestone of participating in a gentleman's sport, joined by notable individuals such as England's James Souther, Pakistan's Miran Bakhsh, and India's Rustomji Jamshedj who are recognized on the roster of the oldest players with international debuts.

94% Plastic Recycled In 4 Hours: Scientists Unveil Breakthrough Method

In a groundbreaking development that could help address the global plastic crisis, scientists have unveiled a new method to break down plastic waste using moisture from the air. The process involves an inexpensive catalyst that effectively breaks down polyethylene terephthalate (PET), the most commonly used plastic in the polyester family.

Once the PET bonds are broken, the material is exposed to ambient air, which converts it into monomers-basic building blocks of plastics. These monomers can then be recycled or upcycled into more valuable materials, offering a cleaner and more sustainable solution than existing recycling methods.

The innovative technique promises to be safer, cheaper, and more environmentally friendly, presenting a hopeful approach to creating a circular economy for plastics. The findings were recently published in Green Chemistry, a respected journal by the Royal Society of Chemistry.

"The US is the number one plastic polluter per capita, and we only recycle 5 percent of those plastics," said Northwestern's Yosi Kratish, the study's co-corresponding author. "There is a dire need for better technologies that can process different types of plastic waste. Most of the technologies that we have today melt down plastic bottles and downcycle them into lower-quality products. What's particularly exciting about our research is that we harnessed moisture from air to break down the plastics, achieving an exceptionally clean and selective process. By recovering the monomers, which are the basic building blocks of PET, we can recycle or even upcycle them into more valuable materials."

"Our study offers a sustainable and efficient solution to one of the world's most pressing environmental challenges: plastic waste," said Naveen Malik, the study's first author. "Unlike traditional recycling methods, which often produce harmful byproducts like waste salts and require significant energy or chemical inputs, our approach uses a solvent-free process that relies on trace moisture from ambient air. This makes it not only environmentally friendly but also highly practical for real-world applications."

An expert in plastic recycling, Kratish is a research assistant professor of chemistry at Northwestern's Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences. Kratish co-led the study with Tobin J. Marks, the Vladimir N. Ipatieff Professor of Catalytic Chemistry and Chemical and Biological Engineering and (by courtesy) Materials Science and Engineering at Northwestern Engineering. At the time of the research, Malik was an postdoctoral fellow in Marks' laboratory; now he is a research assistant professor at the SRM Institute of Science and Technology in India.

Assam Congress Leader Arrested Over Social Media Post. Himanta Sarma Reacts

The arrest of Congress' Assam unit spokesperson, Reetam Singh, over a social media post has teed off a fresh war of words between the grand old party and the ruling BJP.

Reetam Singh was on Saturday arrested for a social media post enquiring about the status of cases registered against three senior BJP leaders, including a former state chief and two serving MLAs.

The wife of BJP MLA Manab Deka filed a complaint against the Congress leader for a post on X two days ago. Reetam Singh had made a post on X on March 13 with a news report about three individuals being convicted by a court for a rape case in Dhemaji district in 2021.

He was arrested from his home in Guwahati by a team of Lakhimpur district police with assistance from the Guwahati Police.

"The arrest of my young colleague Reetam Singh for a perfectly reasonable social media post is worse than atrocious Mr. Chief Minister," Congress general secretary in-charge communications Jairam Ramesh posted on X and tagged Himanta Sarma, the Chief Minister.

Responding to the post, Mr Sarma took a swipe at the Congress and doubled down on the action against Reetam Singh.

"Sir, this case pertains to a caste-based insult directed at a Dalit woman. If you justify calling the husband of a Dalit woman a rapist as a 'perfectly reasonable' social media post, it speaks volumes about the direction in which you people have taken the Congress party," Mr Sarma posted on X.

During the Congress leader's arrest he claimed that no warrant or notice was served on him.

Hours later, Deputy Leader of Congress in the Lok Sabha, Gaurav Gogoi, reached Reetam Singh's house and alleged that his colleague was dragged by police on a day when Union Home Minister Amit Shah was in the state.

"A team of Lakhimpur police arrived in Guwahati to take custody of Congress spokesperson Reetam Singh. When I reached his residence, I saw how he was brutally dragged away and not allowed to speak to me. The police denied me the right to talk to him despite repeated requests," said Mr Gogoi.

"Just a few days ago, BJP workers brutally assaulted two Assam police constables in broad daylight, yet no action was taken. Why were those culprits not arrested? But when a Congress leader tweets something, the police act swiftly to arrest him as if he were a dreaded criminal," asked Mr Gogoi.

Mr Gogoi further claimed that the Assam police are being forced to act against political opponents, tarnishing their track record and putting them at risk of legal consequences.
