Psychologist Arrested For Sexually Exploiting Students For 15 Years: Police

A 45-year-old psychologist was arrested in Nagpur for allegedly blackmailing and sexually exploiting at least 50 of his students over the past 15 years, a police official said on Monday.

The accused, who operated a clinic and residential program in east Nagpur, faces charges under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, the Hudkeshwar police station official said.

"The psychologist allegedly lured students, particularly girls, with promises of personal and professional development. He organized trips and camps where he would sexually abuse them, take explicit photos, and later use these to blackmail them. The incident came to light after a former student, who was being blackmailed by the accused, approached the police," he said.

Several victims are married and may be hesitant to approach police to file complaints, the official added.

Police have formed a special committee to assist victims and ensure a thorough investigation, the official added.

Upset Over Being Replaced From His Seat, Delhi MLA Makes It To 3rd BJP List

BJP rushed to placate the outgoing MLA from Karawal Nagar after the ticket from his current seat was given to Kapil Mishra. Mohan Singh Bisht was then given a ticket from Mustafabad in the third list of candidates released on Sunday, ahead of the February 5 Delhi Assembly election.

Mr Bisht, who has won all except one assembly election from Karawal Nagar since 1998, had earlier said, "The BJP thinks they will field anyone and he will win. This is a big mistake. You have challenged the 'samaj' (his Uttarakhandi community), not Mohan Singh Bisht. The BJP will lose at least 8-10 seats because of this decision, including Karawal Nagar, Burari, Mustafabad and Gokalpuri."

Later, Mr Bisht expressed confidence that he would win the Mustafabad seat for the BJP. "I met the national president and things were ironed out. I have assured that I will contest from Mustafabad and win the seat for the party," Bisht told PTI. The MLA said he and the BJP had considerable support in Mustafabad and he has already attended two public meetings there.

Another protest at the Delhi BJP office voiced resentment over the candidate fielded from Tughlakabad. "Vikram Bidhuri Tum Sangharsh Karo; Modi Se Bair Nahi, Rohtas Teri Khair Nahi," the protesters, including mostly youngsters, chanted as the party leaders tried to pacify them. In the second list of BJP candidates, Rohtas Bidhuri was fielded from the Tughlakabad seat.

A similar protest was also held by some party workers outside the Delhi BJP office against Mehrauli candidate Gajainder Yadav after the announcement of the first list of candidates earlier this month.

Mr Bisht is the only candidate announced as part of the third list of BJP candidates for the Delhi polls. In the first and second lists, 29 candidates each were announced. So far, the BJP has announced 59 candidates.

Elections to the 70-member Delhi Assembly are scheduled on February 5, the counting of votes for which will be held on February 8. The elections will see the Aam Aadmi Party looking to retain power for the third consecutive term, despite many of its leaders being tainted by various cases. The BJP, out of power in Delhi since 1998, is making all-out efforts to return to the helm.

UK Man's Bitcoin Treasure Worth $750 Million Lost Forever. Here's Why

A judge has halted a man's legal bid to recover his 600 million pounds (nearly $750 million) Bitcoin fortune, lost in a landfill 10 years ago. James Howells, 39, initiated the lawsuit after discarding the hard drive containing his cryptocurrency in Newport, Wales, in 2013, according to the BBC.

Since his misfortune, Howells has proposed fully funding the excavation process and offering 25% of the recovered Bitcoin to the Newport City Council.

However, the council rejected his proposal, sparking a decade-long effort by Howells to recover his lost cryptocurrency.

On Thursday, it was reported that Circuit Commercial Judge for Wales, Judge Keyser, dismissed Howells' lawsuit seeking permission to conduct the excavation.

In his ruling, Judge Keyser stated that Howells had "no reasonable grounds" for filing the claim and that there was "no realistic prospect" of success if the case proceeded to trial.

"The particulars of the claim do not demonstrate any reasonable grounds for bringing this case. Additionally, the claim has no realistic prospect of success at trial, nor is there any compelling reason for it to proceed to trial," Keyser explained.

The judge further upheld the council's argument that it owned the hard drive, ruling that Howells had no entitlement to it.

"In my judgment, the council's argument is correct and constitutes a complete defence to the claims," he concluded.

Howells expressed his disappointment with the ruling, telling the British outlet that he felt "very upset" and likened the decision to a "kick in the teeth."

"The case being struck out at the earliest hearing denies me the chance to explain myself or seek justice in any form," he said.

"There was so much more I could have presented in a full trial, and that's what I had anticipated."

He also noted his persistent efforts to engage with the Newport City Council over the past 12 years.

"I've tried every possible way to communicate with the council," he said. "It's not about greed-I'm willing to share the proceeds- but no one in a position of power is willing to have a proper conversation with me."

"This ruling has taken everything from me and left me with nothing," he added.

"It's the great British injustice system at work once again."

"It Broke Me": Imran Khan's Ex-Wife Shares Cryptic Post About Their Divorce

Imran Khan and Avantika Malik married in 2011. However, after eight years of marriage, they decided to part ways in 2019. Recently, Avantika opened up about the emotional turmoil she experienced during their divorce. In a cryptic post, she shared how the year 2019 was a pivotal and painful moment in her life, adding that it "broke" her.

In her post, Avantika wrote, "The truth is, the number of days we have here is actually not so large. So if you have the opportunity to wake up tomorrow, to let this world age you, weather you, and meet you where you are for even just one more golden minute, I hope you show up for it. Do as much as you possibly can with your time here. Risk your heart. Express."

She continued, "Take care of others, leaving them better than you found them. Give yourself permission to take up space. Be all that you are. Love the way you hope to love and love people on purpose, with depth and intention. Keep rescuing those younger parts of yourself. Forgive. Put every ounce of your patchwork soul into this world, crack tenderness into all of its dark corners. Stay soft, stay curious, but most importantly just hold on to your hope. Hold on to your hope."

In the caption, Avantika also reflected on a meeting with a couple of friends she hadn't seen since 2019. She shared how they both noticed a change in her.

She wrote, "The last time they saw me in the flesh was 2019, the year I broke and unravelled... And then they saw me now. And they both had the same things to say... That they finally see me being authentic, the real me. And the joy they see brings to my eyes, a glow to my face... and I knew they were telling me the truth. But the best thing they said to me was that I was 'living.'"

Avantika then reflected on how she had reached this point of transformation, attributing it to her consistent choice of hope even in the darkest times. I know it's because somehow, shockingly, I always chose hope. In the darkest, bleakest moments (and there were a few), I reminded myself that if all I do is focus on putting out the love within me, the universe will generously reflect that back to me. What is within is without," she concluded.

Imran Khan and Avantika Malik, who had been together since childhood, married in a grand ceremony in 2011. After their separation in 2019, they continued to co-parent their daughter, Imara. Imran is now in a relationship with actress Lekha Washington.

Neuralink Brain Chip Implanted In 3rd Patient, Elon Musk Says "Working Well"

Neuralink Corp.'s brain-computer device has been implanted in a third patient and the company has plans for about 20 to 30 more implants in 2025, founder Elon Musk said.

"We've got now three humans with Neuralinks implanted and they're all working well," Musk said during an event in Las Vegas this week that was streamed on X, his social media service.

Neuralink is one of a growing group of startups developing brain implants that can help treat conditions such as paralysis and ALS. They are experimental procedures that usually require opening up the skull to place electrodes in the brain tissue. A year ago, Neuralink said it had implanted its device in its initial patient, Noland Arbaugh.

The company currently has two US studies for its devices registered with the Food and Drug Administration. The Prime Study, designed for an estimated five patients, allows paralyzed patients to control external devices such as computers or smartphones with their minds. A second study, Convoy, is designed for three patients, and allows them to control devices such as assistive robotic arms.

India Star With 0 ODIs, Coached By Gambhir At KKR, Set For CT 2025 Call-Up

In a rather surprising development, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) spinner Varun Chakravarthy seems to be high up in the race for a spot in Team India's ICC Champions Trophy 2025 squad. With the deadline to announce the provisional squad on January 12, reports have suggested that Chakravarthy is one of the leading candidates for the spin-bowling spots in the team. In fact, he is seemingly ahead of a veteran like Ravindra Jadeja and a few other spin bowling stars in the selection race.

Kuldeep Yadav is also one of the strong candidates for the Champions Trophy squad but his fitness has been an issue for a while. If he is to get the selectors' nod for the Champions Trophy, he would need to first prove his fitness for England ODIs, which could be tricky. Hence, Chakravarthy has emerged as one of the leading candidates to lead India's spin-bowling attack in Dubai for the Champions Trophy, as per Indian Express.

Varun famously was picked for India's T20 World Cup squad in 2021, though the stunt didn't go as well for him. He has made a return to the team's T20 side but is yet to make his debut in the 50-over format for the international stage.

Chakravarthy played a crucial role in Kolkata Knight Riders' triumph at the IPL 2024 campaign, under the mentorship of Gautam Gambhir, the current India head coach. Gambhir could have a key role in Chakravarthy's selection for the Champions Trophy, though there are other players in the fray too.

Ravi Bishnoi is another player who reportedly has the selectors' interest, while left-arm spinners Axar Patel and Ravindra Jadeja are also in line. However, a report in Times of India has claimed that the selectors are looking to move away from Jadeja in the ODI format, though it isn't yet certain whether it would happen before the Champions Trophy or after.

Kate Winslet Reacts To Being Called A "Legend"At Golden Globes 2025

Kate Winslet has an exceptional body of work to her credit, and it would be obvious to term her as a legend in her profession. However, it seems that the actress thinks otherwise.

She was addressed as a "legend", by the host, Nikki Glaser, at the Golden Globes Awards recently, and the cameras captured her instant reaction of discomfort to it.

Her name was taken alongside Cate Blanchett and Collin Farrell.

Her cringed expression went viral on social media, and netizens started reacting to it. As the cameras zoomed in further, she was seen mouthing, "Why me?"

With several highlights from the ceremony this year, from Timothee-Kylie's PDA to Zendaya sparking engagement rumours, Winslet's unfiltered reaction was definitely hailed as unmissable.

Social Media had a flurry of comments, discussing what had unfolded. One user commented, "Kate Winslet hiding from the camera is funnier than anything else we'll see tonight."

While someone else mentioned, "Kate Winslet's face LOOOOOL."

Another section of people were of the opinion that her reaction was the perfect content for making memes that would become an instant hit.

The Titanic actress was nominated in two categories at the Golden Globes 2025.

One, was for Best Performance by an Actress in a Drama Movie, for her performance in Lee. The other one was for Best Performance by an Actress in a Limited Series, Anthology Series, or Motion Picture Made for Television for The Regime.

Unfortunately, she didn't win this year, as the award for the latter category was bagged by Jodie Foster for True Detective: Night Country.

The 82nd Golden Globes Awards was held at the Beverly Hilton, on January 5, 2025. It recognizes talents across film and television.
