"Take Your Money...": Pak Great Reveals Advice To Babar, Gambhir Adds...

Pakistan begin a fresh journey, under new captain Shan Masood, when  they take on Australia in the first Test in Perth on Wednesday. Shan Masood's first Test outing as a skipper has seen a plethora of changes in the squad with all-rounder Aamir Jamal and right-arm pacer Khurram Shahzad bound to make their Test debut. The other major change is that after a long time, Babar Azam will be seen as only a player. After Pakistan's poor outing at the ODI Cricket World Cup 2023, the signs were there that Babar Azam might be replaced as captain.

It happened and several experts believe that this might benefit Babar Azam, the batter.

"Babar resigned, Shaheen became the captain of the T20I side. Shan Masood has been made the test captain. Mohammed Hafeez has been made the director of cricket and he is also the coach for the Australia Tour. Wahab Riaz is the chief selector. It's good in a was because they have just retired. They will bring in a different energy, new ideas," Wasim Akram said on Sportskeeda

Gautam Gambhir, who was part of the discussion, said that the world will see a new Babar Azam now.

"You will see a new Babar Azam now. I had said before the World Cup that he cane be the best batter. But there was the pressure of captaincy. Now, the world will see a new Babar Azam, a different Babar Azam," Gambhir said.

"I agree. I had a given this idea to Babar Azam a couple of years ago that don't do captaincy in league cricket. Big player, take your money, play your game, get runs, go home, and then to the next event," Wasim Akram said.

"Pakistan's captaincy is alright, but the league brings extra stress without any reason," said Akram, who previously worked with Babar at Karachi Kings.

Then Gautam Gambhir added: "Babar Azam does not need to prove anything. Honestly, he will not get anything by winning PSL. He should go out there and become the best batter out there."

After showcasing a good temperament in the recently concluded ODI World Cup, Imam-ul-Haq and Abdullah Shafique will continue to open for Pakistan in the first Test against Australia.

Former skipper Babar Azam will stay at his usual No. 4 spot, while, the spin duties have been entrusted to Salman Ali Agha in the absence of Abrar Ahmed.

In the absence of Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf, the pace bowling will be spearheaded by Shaheen Afridi and supported by Faheem.

Madhya Pradesh Bans Loudspeakers At Religious Places Beyond Permissible Limits

Soon after taking oath as chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, Dr Mohan Yadav chaired the first meeting of the state cabinet and decided to strictly ensure use of sound amplifiers (loud speakers and DJs) as per the prescribed standards at religious and other places.

It was decided to form flying squads in all districts to check noise pollution and illegal use of loudspeakers, etc.

The decision was taken in accordance with the provisions of the Madhya Pradesh Noise Control Act, Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules 2000 guidelines issued by the Supreme Court and the High Court. Under the Act, use of loudspeakers and other sound amplifying devices at loud volumes without permission is completely prohibited.

In each district, the flying squad will regularly and randomly inspect religious and public places and in case of violation of rules, investigation will be conducted within three days and a report will be submitted to the concerned authority.

Efforts will be made to remove loud speakers on the basis of communication and coordination with religious leaders. Instructions have been given to make a list and review such religious places where these rules and instructions are not being followed weekly at the district level and provide the compliance report to the Home Department by December 31.

"Love In The Heart": Pierce Brosnan Shares Secret Of His Long Marriage

Actor Pierce Brosnan, who is best known for essaying the role of secret agent James Bond in the Bond film series, recently shared the secret to his 22-year marriage in Hollywood. He stated that he and Keely Shaye Smith, his wife of 22 years, have seen a lot of ups and downs and are still going strong, as per a report in Fox News.

"We like each other a lot. We love each other a lot. And we've been down the road, and we've seen many, many hardships as families do, as we all do," he told the outlet.

He continued, "But watching someone grow up with you and grow old with you is a very spiritual journey. To watch each other change ... whatever it may be, the hair, the waist. But it's the love in the heart."

The "Fast Charlie," said that his wife has been very "supportive" over the years as a partner and parent. "Keeley is a journalist, a reporter. She's an artist in her own right. And as a woman, she has made a family for our sons. She allows me to go out into the wild blue yonder and do what I do as a man, as an actor, (she) always has," he continued.

The couple got married in 2001 and have two sons, Dylan and Paris. The actor was previously married to Cassandra Harris, who died in 1991 after suffering from ovarian cancer. Sean was the couple's only child, and Mr Brosnan adopted Chris and Charlotte, the children from Ms Harris' first marriage. However, in 2013, Charlotte passed away at the age of 42 due to ovarian cancer.

The actor, who was born in Ireland, has always had a secret love for the art. "It's always been there. Just be silent over there," he said. He recently debuted a solo exhibition of his artwork, "So Many Dreams" at Art Basel in Miami over the weekend.

He added, "I've always been a painter, an artist at heart. So, it's a work in progress, just like the acting. You just ... keep showing up, and you refine yourself and you refine the work and the message you want to tell the people."

Discussing his resolutions for 2024, the 70-year-old added, "It's too early for New Year's resolutions. Let's just finish the year out and in good faith and hope and love each other. Let's just do that. Let's just be kind to each other. That would be a good resolution."

Court Allows Kerala Woman To Go To Yemen To Save Daughter On Death Row

The Delhi High Court permitted the mother of a Kerala woman, who is on death row in Yemen for killing a Yemeni national, to travel to the West Asian country to negotiate blood money with the victim's family and save her daughter from the gallows.

Justice Subramonium Prasad directed the Centre to relax its 2017 notification, which barred Indian passport holders from travelling to Yemen, for the petitioner subject to her filing an affidavit that she will travel with another person to the restive nation to negotiate her daughter's release at her own risk and responsibility without any liability to the Government of India or the state government concerned.

The High Court took note of the Centre's submission that India does not have diplomatic ties with Yemen, has closed its embassy there, and that no international treaty is applicable in the present scenario.

The court was hearing a plea by Prema Kumari, the mother of Nimisha Priya, seeking facilitation of her travel along with three others to Yemen to negotiate compensation with the victim's family to save her daughter.

Yemen's Supreme Court on November 13 dismissed the appeal of Nimisha Priya, who was working as a nurse in the West Asian country, against her sentence.

Ms Priya has been convicted of murdering Talal Abdo Mahdi, who died in July 2017, after she injected him with sedatives in order to get back her passport from his possession.

It was alleged that she administered the sedatives so she could take back her passport while he was unconscious but he died of an overdose.

Ms Priya's mother moved the High Court earlier this year seeking permission to go to Yemen in spite of a travel ban for Indians and negotiate the blood money to save her daughter.

During the hearing, the Centre's counsel informed the court that the government had issued a notification on September 26, 2017 stating that an Indian passport holder cannot travel to the troubled nation.

The court noted that clause 3 of the notification gives power to the government to relax its provisions for specific and essential reasons for which a limited time may be granted by the central government at the express request of the applicant who will travel at their own personal risk without any liability to the Government of India.

The court observed orally why should there be so much reluctance on the Centre's part for a mother making a last attempt to save her daughter from the gallows. Advocate Subhash Chandran KR, who represented the petitioner, told the court that the other person who will be travelling with the mother has a valid visa for Yemen and is working there for more than 24 years.

The petitioner's counsel said they will be travelling at their own risk.

The court noted that the man's affidavit said he is ready to travel with Nimisha Priya's mother to Yemen to help her negotiate with the authorities concerned.

The high court said, “In view of the affidavit, this court is inclined to direct the Union of India to relax the notification of 2017 for the petitioner on her filing an affidavit to the effect that she will be travelling to Yemen with the other person for the purposes of negotiating for the release of her daughter at her own personal risk and responsibility without any liability to the government of India or the state government concerned.” The court asked the petitioner to file an affidavit giving the dates of travel and return and disposed of the petition.

The counsel for Ms Priya's mother informed the court that the Yemen's Supreme Court, which on November 13 dismissed her appeal and upheld the death sentence, gave her a last option of escaping the gallows by securing a pardon from the victim's family after paying blood money.

The petitioner's lawyer had said a letter informing the family about the Supreme Court of Yemen dismissing Priya's appeal was received on December 1 and her execution can take place anytime.

The 'Save Nimisha Priya International Action Council' had approached the high court last year and sought direction to the Centre to "facilitate diplomatic interventions as well as negotiations with the family of the victim on behalf of Nimisha Priya to save her life by paying blood money in accordance with the law of the land in a time-bound manner".

The petition alleged Mr Mahdi had forged documents to show he and Ms Priya were married and abused and tortured her.

The High Court had earlier refused to direct the Centre to negotiate payment of blood money to save Ms Priya's life but asked it to pursue legal remedies against her conviction.

"She Is Not Eating Anything": Father Of Teen Help Tortured In Gurugram

A 13-year-old domestic help, who was allegedly physically and sexually assaulted by her woman employer and her two sons in the Sector 57 area in Gurugram, on Monday demanded that all three should be punished.

Police have not made any arrest in the incident that came to light on Saturday. A senior police officer said the probe is underway and action will be taken as per the law only after verifying the facts.

“I used to sweep the house, clean utensils and take care of their dog. But I didn't even get food on time. At the house, the woman and her two sons used to misbehave with me and beat me with iron rods and hammers. All three should be punished,” the victim, who is undergoing treatment in the Civil Hospital, told PTI.

The girl's father said she is still in shock and not eating or drinking anything.

The victim's parents have alleged that the accused tried to burn her body by pouring acid and that she was also bitten by the dog.

On the basis of a complaint by her mother, an FIR was registered against the woman, Shashi Sharma, and her two sons under relevant sections of IPC and the POCSO Act at women's police station in Sector 51 on Saturday.

The girl's father said that in June this year, she was hired by Shashi Sharma who paid her for only two months.

"After this, the woman stopped giving money and held my daughter hostage in their home where she was tortured. She was also sexually abused by her sons," the father said.

“I tried several times to meet my daughter but they did not allow me to meet her. They also threatened me. It was only the effort of the employers of my wife, who works as a maid, that my daughter was freed from the Sector 57 house,” he added.

Virendra Vij, DCP (crime against women) said that they are verifying all the facts in the matter and action will be taken as per the law.

“We are waiting for the medical report and are also verifying the victim's age. All three accused in the case are being questioned by a police team,” said DCP Vij.

When visiting the accused's fourth floor house in Sector 57, a person opened the door and said the matter is under investigation and claimed that all allegations are baseless. On asking his name, he refused and shut the door.

"Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir Is Ours": Amit Shah Reiterates in Parliament

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday reaffirmed inside Parliament that Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) is part of India and that no one can snatch the region from us.

The Union Home Minister was replying to debate in the Rajya Sabha on the two bills-- The Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation (Amendment) Bill 2023 and The Jammu and Kashmir Reservation (Amendment) Bill 2023-- which were passed by the Lok Sabha on December 7.

He said that the Delimitation Commission, set up by the Centre for the delimitation of assemblies and parliamentary constituencies in Jammu and Kashmir, has reserved 24 seats for PoK as it is ours.

"The delimitation commission has taken many other decisions. I just want to tell the past and present situation before the House. Earlier there were only 37 seats in Jammu (division), now the new Delimitation Commission has increased the number of seats from 37 to 43 in the Jammu region. Work has been done to make 47 seats instead of 46 in Kashmir (division). In this way, Jammu and Kashmir together have 90 seats against 83 seats earlier. And 24 seats of PoK have been kept reserved because we still believe that...(and) today I want to say again that PoK belongs to India, it is ours and that no one can take it from us," Mr Shah said.

The Jammu and Kashmir Reservation (Amendment) Bill, 2023, was introduced in Lok Sabha on July 26, 2023. It amends the Jammu and Kashmir Reservation Act of 2004.

The Act provides for reservation in jobs and admission in professional institutions to members of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and other socially and educationally backward classes.

The other seeks to insert new sections 15A and 15B in the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act, 2019 to nominate not more than two members, one of whom shall be a woman, from the community of "Kashmiri Migrants" and one member from "Displaced Persons from Pakistan occupied Jammu and Kashmir", to the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly.

The two bills on the Jammu and Kashmir Reservation are aimed at providing "rights to those who faced injustice" and were deprived of their rights in the Union Territory.

Mr Shah said that everyone has supported all the elements of the two bills unanimously.

Stating that the term 'weak and deprived class' is a very hurtful name for any citizen, he said, "It has been decided to add the name 'Other Backward Class' in place of these terms, which are constitutional terms."

The second bill is to give respect to everyone including Kashmiri Pandits displaced in Jammu and Kashmir over the years, Shah said.

"Terrorism (in J-K) started in the 80s, and reached its peak in 1989, many Kashmiri Hindus, especially Kashmiri Pandits and many Sikh brothers left the valley and scattered across the country. They went to Jammu, went to Bengaluru, went to Gujarat, went to Delhi, went to Faridabad...they scattered so much that in their own country they became displaced and refugees. (This bill) is to honour those people," he said.

During his address, the Union Home Minister said a total of 46,631 families and 1,97,967 people, who were displaced registered themselves with the government after the Centre's efforts.

He said that the ones displaced including Kashmiri Pandits who are left from registering themselves can approach the government.

"Today, through this House, I want to tell the Kashmiri Pandits and other displaced persons scattered across the country that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government is committed to providing you justice. You write to me, write to the Kashmir government. Your registration will be done without any hassle. You will become a voter, you will be able to contest elections and you can also become a minister in Jammu and Kashmir. You have full rights," he said.

"It's Over. Surrender Now": Netanyahu's "Beginning Of End" Warning To Hamas

Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday called for Hamas operatives to lay down their arms, saying the Palestinian group's end was near, as the war in the Gaza Strip raged more than two months after it began.

"The war is still ongoing but it is the beginning of the end of Hamas. I say to the Hamas terrorists: It's over. Don't die for (Yahya) Sinwar. Surrender now," Netanyahu said in a statement, referring to the chief of Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

"In the past few days, dozens of Hamas terrorists have surrendered to our forces," Netanyahu said.

The military has, however, not released proof of operatives surrendering, and Hamas has rejected such claims.

Almost one month ago, Israel's Defence Minister Yoav Gallant said Hamas had "lost control" of Gaza.

Hamas triggered the conflict with the deadliest-ever attack on Israel on October 7 in which it killed around 1,200 people, according to Israeli figures, and dragged around 240 hostages back to Gaza.

Israel has responded with a relentless military offensive that has reduced much of Gaza to rubble and killed at least 17,997 people, mostly women and children, according to the Hamas-run health ministry.
